|Hello, I am Paul DeCarlo. I’ve been with RE/MAX Southern Homes since 2004 as a full time real estate agent. In 1996, I was a manager at Parisian in Jacksonville, Florida and moved to their corporate office here in Birmingham, Alabama. It was a surprise to find such a secret in the South. After living in South Carolina, Michigan, Louisiana, and Florida, I can honestly say that Birmingham is my favorite of them all.I am a 1994 graduate from Florida State University with a Bachelor of Science in Social Science. My major concentrations were Economics and Political Science.
Immediately after graduation, I opened a small restaurant in Charleston, South Carolina called “Picasso’s Café”, which I later sold. It was a successful business in a very tough industry. Since 1998, I invested in real estate and found rental properties a stable and steady source of income.
My former employers include State Farm Insurance, Parisian, and Subway Sandwiches while in college.
Helping buyers and sellers with their real estate needs is a great career. It’s a great feeling when I’m able to find a home for a family that fits their needs, or help a seller prepare their home for the market and sell it for the highest market dollar available.
My hobbies include riding a Specialized road bike, jogging, traveling, snow skiing, and spending time at Smith Lake and spending time in New Orleans, LA. I also enjoy visiting family in various parts of the country whenever possible and rooting for my favorite college team, the FSU Seminoles!
I was one of Helena Alabama’s youngest elected officials at 29 years old. I ran a successful campaign and was elected by the people of Helena, Alabama as City Councilman, Place #1 and served the public for 4 years. I decided not to run again so that I could focus my attention to real estate.
Best wishes, and I look forward to serving you!
